HALSTON IS HERE!!!!

I could not be more excited to type this! Halston is here!!! He was born January 17th @ 7:20 am and weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19 inches long.  Today he is one week old and just the absolute love of my life!!!.  Right now he is very confused about what to do with his hands.  When he is really hungry he will flop and flail them around in a panic!  He is most comfy when he is swaddled. Of course, he falls asleep so quickly and stays asleep during the day but is a night owl.  He doesn't cry at night but, just likes to stare at the ceiling.  He had not pooped in 3 days and i was getting pretty worried so, I called the paediatrician and she told me he was not eating enough.  I upped his formula to 3 oz. and got an explosion! It was literally filling up his entire diaper.  Today, I am assuming because of the extra once of formula, was also his first projectile spit up.  It must have been an entire bottle and really shocked me.  He is 7 days old and will follow his mobile with his eyes.  I feel like this is pretty good for his age but, maybe it is standard.  He is also not a huge fan of the sponge bath.  He screams all the way through it but LOVES the counter top sponge I put him on.  I have started changing him there.  It is right under a BRIGHT light and it almost acts as a heat lamp.  He is soooo comfy cozy underneath it.  So sweet. One week down and a million more to go.  sometimes I just look at him and cry.  I never knew my heart could love like this.  It is truly amazing!!!  

{36 weeks}... and 5 days!

I am almost 37 days pregnant today!!! I cannot believe it!  The Christmas break was wonderful and...not over yet for me.  I am working today (TTuesday) and do not work again until next Tuesday!  It will be so great to have time to nest and rest before baby.  My due Day is officially 23 days away! Ahhhhh.  I cannot even imagine how amazing it is going to be to look into my son's eyes.  Wow!  I cannot wait to see his beautiful face!  He got some adorable outfits from his aunt Jill and his first hockey jersey from his dad.  Grammy & pappa also got him some nursery furniture and a DVD that will ensure he is the "happiest baby on the block".  I got a video camera so that I can capture all of his milestones and precious moments! I have been praying for a speedy delivery. Ha...It will be what it will be! I just want my baby here safe and sound! Hope everyone had a blessed holiday and is looking forward to the new year.  Praying that the Lord blesses everyone with a healthy and joyful fresh start!

{35 Week Update!} Swelling SICKNESS & Braxton Hicks

I cannot wait to hold my sweet little boy in my arms. I am really looking forward to this December break! I know I will just be getting bigger and more swollen but, it will be a nice time to rest before Mr. H makes his way into the world. I hope everyone has a blessed holiday season!

July 24th: 3 1/2 Months

Moving right along.  I am getting there.  3 1/2 months and....still sick.  4 more weeks until we find out the sex of our little peanut.  My gut feeling is that it is a girl but, what do I know.  I have just started to outgrow my clothes 100%. even my baggy blue jeans fit like leggings.  This is such a weird feeling because I am not large enough to wear maternity clothes.  really weird limbo stage.  My pills help allot but, the minute I miss one... I vomit!  I wish this would subside.  Other than that, I feel great.  I am getting so excited! I have been in Houston on vacation and have been looking High & Low for a belle baby carrier.   Mom and I went to a resale shop to look for maternity clothes and I FOUND ONE second hand!  1/2 price! so excited. Not much else to report. 

July 23: Baby Food Evolution

So... I am always researching cool new baby gadgets and inventions that makes mom's life easier. I know that the new fad is cooking your own baby food but, Who has the time?  I am really in love with Nurturme's quick dried baby food!  What a cool concept.  The food is quick dried which preserves the nutrients ans antioxidants that jarred baby food cooks out.  Also, 8 packages weighs less than 1 jar so it's easy on the diaper bag.  An added benefit is that it can be mixed with water, breast milk or formula! And, when baby gets bigger you can sneak Nurturme's magic nutrient powder into mac-n-cheese, soups and pastas.  talk about evolved baby food!
